WASHINGTON — A bipartisan coalition of lawmakers is threatening to dam the Federal Communications Fee’s latest choice concerning the deployment of a 5G community that will intervene with business and army GPS alerts.

Final week, the five-member FCC voted unanimously to permit Ligado Networks to deploy a low-power nationwide 5G community regardless of objections from federal companies, together with the Departments of Protection, Commerce and Justice, in addition to main U.S. airways.

The 5G community will use an L-band spectrum that has the potential to disrupt business and army GPS alerts, subsequently elevating considerations that the know-how will influence U.S. nationwide safety.

The chairmen and rating members of the Home and Senate Armed Companies committees, representing each events, known as on the Federal Communications Fee to reverse its unanimous choice in an April 22 op-ed.
